Larry Hogan’s voter fraud
He picked a dead guy.
Maryland Governor Larry Hogan told The Washington Post he sent in his ballot for the 2020 presidential election and he “voted for Ronald Reagan.”
Yes, he claims to have voted for a dead guy.
If over the next 18 days, everyone in America follows the example of the leader of six million Marylanders, on Inauguration Day, the 46th President of the United States will be a man who has been dead for 6,073 days.
In a serious time, the Republican governor of Maryland decided to prove without a shadow of a doubt he is an unserious man. Because nothing says I am serious about being a leader like “I picked a dead guy.”
Nothing says I am shaken by the 217,585 Americans who have died from COVID-19 — including 4,028 of my constituents — and the next president must do more to halt the pandemic like proclaiming, “I picked a dead guy.”
Nothing says I understand America requires a leader who will tackle the widening economic crisis which has seen eight million Americans slip into poverty like “I picked a dead guy.”
Nothing says I am courageous and will make unpopular decisions when they are for the good of the country like “I picked a dead guy.”
Nothing more says I am deserving of your vote when I run for the most important job in the world, President of the United States, in 2024 like announcing the last time around “I picked a dead guy.”
Because this is all Hogan is doing. He did the same ‘cut the baby in half’ act in 2020 when he wrote-in the name of his father, Larry Hogan Sr., who was 88 years old at the time. He does not want to support Donald Trump and risk losing his moderate appeal but doesn’t want to lose conservatives by voting for Joe Biden, either. At least when he pulled this stunt four years ago, he cast his ballot for somebody with a pulse.
Because nothing says I am prepared to ‘preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States’ like admitting my last vote was for somebody who was Constitutionally ineligible because “I picked a dead guy.”
He didn’t mean it, but nothing says the Electoral College is a complete sham and we need to get rid of it right away like matter-of-factly telling The Post ‘it won’t change the outcome in my state’ because Maryland’s 10 electoral votes will go to Biden, so “I picked a dead guy.”
Nothing says I hold strong democratic values and am committed to upholding them like “I picked a dead guy.”
Nothing says I believe voting in free and fair elections to be the bedrock of our nation like “I picked a dead guy.”
Nothing says I am humbled by the sacrifices made by American civil rights heroes like the late John Lewis, who was willing to give his life so Black Americans could have the right to vote, like “I picked a dead guy.”
Nothing says I am ashamed by long lines at polling places and we must ensure voter suppression stops like “I picked a dead guy.”
Folks, it can’t be stated enough: Larry Hogan, an elected official who wants us to believe he is a capable leader and deserves immense political power, has just cast his vote for a person who died 16 years ago.
In Larry Hogan’s vision of the future of America, the president is a literal dead man.
He meant it as a statement about who we choose as our elected leaders. It said more about himself than he will ever know.
Because nothing says I am a giant boob who does not deserve to be in the room when America faces a crisis, or there are serious matters to discuss, or lives are in danger like “I picked a dead guy.”
Nothing says I can’t tell my ass from a hole in the ground like casting a ballot and bragging, “I picked a dead guy.”
Larry Hogan, the Governor of Maryland, would have been better off keeping his mouth shut, but it is for the best that he didn’t so we can now ignore him for the rest of our lives.
It is good that he ran to a newspaper to proclaim he is a voting fraud.
